Bear Flag Zinfandel Bottle with Black Background

ZINFANDEL

WHERE CALIFORNIA BEGAN

In 1846, American settlers fought for independence and raised the original Bear Flag in Sonoma County, California. Like these early pioneers, our structured and well-balanced Zinfandel breaks free of expectations set over the last decade.

Tasting Notes

“…bursts from the glass with baked raspberries, red currant jelly and Black Forest cake notes with hints of tree bark, cracked pepper and Indian spices plus a waft of potpourri. Full-bodied, rich, velvety and wonderfully spicy in the mouth, it gives up loads of earthy layers on the long finish.”

The Bear Flag Revolt

Bear Flag Map

This is where it all began for the state of California.

Faced with tyranny and oppression, American settlers mounted the Bear Flag Revolt in Sonoma, California, on June 14, 1846. In a rare feat for the time, they won the battle for independence that very same day - entirely without Republic by raising the first California Bear Flag in the town square.

Inspired by their quest for independence, Bear Flag Zinfandel honors all kindred spirits who stand their ground, have the good taste to dream big...and never waste a drop.
